September is National Preparedness Month, a time to focus on the importance of being prepared for emergencies and disasters. It is an opportunity to take steps that can help protect you, your family, and your community before an emergency happens. Preparedness does not have to be overwhelming or complicated. Taking small actions now can make it easier to know what to do, where to go, and what you may need when an emergency occurs.
Ready in 30: One Month, One Step at a Time
To celebrate National Preparedness Month, Brown County Public Health is launching Ready in 30: One Month, One Step at a Time. This 30 day challenge is designed to make preparedness simple and manageable by breaking it down into one small action each day. Throughout September, residents can take a few minutes each day to build their preparedness, whether that means making an emergency plan, checking their home safety equipment, gathering supplies, or learning an important preparedness skill.
Follow the Calendar
The Ready in 30 calendar below provides a preparedness action for each day of September. Use the calendar to follow along throughout the month and check off each step as you complete it. By the end of 30 days, you will have taken 30 simple steps toward being better prepared. Remember, preparedness does not happen all at once. One month, One step at a time.
